Donut and Bit
QUED® Donut and Bit are popular soft‑play shapes that serve as skill‑development tools and storytelling props. The Donut separates via hook‑and‑loop flaps to create bridges or tunnels.
Challenge
Offer reconfigurable shapes that support storytelling and gross‑motor skill development.
Solution
Provide a separable ring (Donut) and center Bit in ~44 ILD foam with a reinforced ~0.61 kg/m² (18 oz/yd²) cover and 51 mm (2 in) hook‑and‑loop flaps.
The Shape
The round Donut and central Bit can be configured together or apart to form crawl‑through tunnels, step‑over bridges, and imaginative play stations that encourage balance and coordination.
The Construction
Both shapes use a polyester‑reinforced vinyl cover (~0.61 kg/m² / 18 oz/yd²) over a ~44 ILD polyurethane foam core. Seams are inverted and cross‑stitched; full‑width hook‑and‑loop flaps and a concealed YKK zipper are provided.
The Operation
Place the Donut and Bit on a level surface. Separate and rejoin the Donut using the hook‑and‑loop flaps to form bridges or tunnels as required. Clean the cover after use.
